DOES CRIME REALLY PAY?

Statistics show that more under-18-year-olds have been convicted of shoplifting and burglary than ever before. The situation for many of those youngsters is becoming more difficult each day, in terms of jobs, and many think that, rather than not having anything to eat it´s better to commit a crime. Many youngsters think that crime pays: "After all, the chances of being caught are not many, considering the situation of police today". Is this what we are teaching our youth? Was education better in our grandparents´time, when crime was too far from people´s minds?
