Food for thought

This one and other interesting posters have been made or designed by our ESO and bachillerato students to decorate the walls and to make us think a bit about topics that should never be forgotten!!

SHAKESCERVAN 2016

We are in 2016, and the 23rd of April is a very significant date. For various reasons: first, because we celebrate St George, and the book day, a day when we revise and celebrate our books, new publications, and many people give books as presents, in Cataluña they also give a rose to their beloved ones. Secondly, and more so this year, because it is the 400 anniversary of the death of probably the two most magnificent writers of universal literature. Shakespeare and Cervantes!! 

We didn't want to celebrate only one or the other so we have organised some activities to commemorate both authors,  their stories, their works. 

The students of 1bach and 3eso have created wonderful posters about these topics, some of them both in English and Spanish, great work!!!

And the group of 4eso, a great crowd of artists, have done a fabulous play based on a script created for the occasion:

"Perdona, Romeo, pero Julieta me queries a mi". The script is a hilarious and crazy idea, the loves described in the artists' masterpieces go foolishly wrong  but somehow end up happily. 

Don't miss it on stage in the School Festival!!!

10th anniversary of 4.ESO's trip to UK

This year will also be special!!!

Our students have been traveling to the UK for ten years, making it a fantastic experience and learning lots about the language and above all, how formative and wonderful it is to travel!

Hopefully, this opportunity will continue in the next years 👍👍

LONDON, HERE WE GO!!!!!!!

ST PATRICKS DAY!!!

Long time no see...!!!!
Today was St Patrick!!! There wasn't much celebration in school, mainly because after the term exams we are all so very tired and ready to break up for the holidays...
Still, some girls are always up to something different...

Last 7th April our ESO students attended to a very special play at the beautiful Teatro Principal in Santiago. Based on the brilliant book by Mary Shelley and adapted to our students' level, the show Frankenstein was the perfect vehicle for students to practise their English, at the same time that they enjoyed the performance of one of the greatest stories ever written. 

Going to London was one of the best experiences of our 4^th ESO students! They had the opportunity to see this beautiful city, soaking up everything around them and taking part in several activities, like visiting the most important places in London: Tower Bridge, London Eye, Buckingham Palace...They even attended to a press conference at Wembley!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

Imagine you had to choose a hero: who would you choose and why? That's the question we've made to our 1st year ESO students. They are preparing some oral presentations about their favourite heroes, and they are doing a great job!!  We'll be adding some nice pictures about their presentations so that you can give your personal opinions about them!

Our 2nd and 3rd year ESO students are working on their oral presentations to show their classmates what they are interested in: music, animals, hobbies...Some students have already talked about their favourite music groups and the sports they practise: The Rolling Stones, sailing... They are working hard and we are learning a lot!

2 ESO is also watching a film in English after four days of exams. We are enjoying the film a lot, he is so funny. We understand the film very well, it´s easy and we can always read the subtitles in English if we lose something!

After four days of exams, we deserve a break!! The students of 1st of Eso watched the hilarious film of Johnny English. We enjoyed it very much because it was very funny, and we practised English a lot by watching it in original version and reading the subtitles in English too. 

SUMMER IS GONE AND HERE WE ARE AGAIN, BACK TO SCHOOL

WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL, IT´S GREAT TO SEE YOU AGAIN!!!

IRISH WEEK 11th-15th MARCH

After a few days of hard work of our students, we are finally enjoying a week of FUN!!

With the idea of IRELAND and SAINT PATRICK, we are looking at a wide variety of topics: a fabulous exhibition, oral presentations of different topics related to the history, the symbols, the music of this cheerful country!!!

This is the idea:
-exhibition of posters and decorations 1/2 eso.
-oral presentations of students of 3/4 eso
-film: "In the name of the father" for 1.bach.
-Weds: Teacher Denise will give a QUIZ on Ireland, there will be sweets and a little surprise!! (3/4/1bach and 6ep/1/2eso)
-Talks about different features of Irish History or Culture by the teachers:

Well, We went to the talk that Mariano gave the students of 1 and 2 ESO, and we learnt lots of interesting things about US. We really enjoyed it and we would love to have more people like him to tell us about their experiences in different fields...
